Model UN Summer Camp 2008

The participants attended different trainings, seminars and activities designed to broaden their general knowledge on UN system, MDGs, Gender, conflict resolution, effective presentation, etc, and in particular on Global Food Crisis. In addition, students participated in intellectual games and various intercultural activities intended to familiarize participants from three countries with each other’s cultural peculiarities and bring them together. During the whole week, participants prepared for the Model UN conference, which took place on August 2, in the Tbilisi State University. While simulating the General Assembly of the United Nations, delegates discussed the causes of the Global Food Crisis and tried to find the ways of overcoming it. The delegates elaborated two resolutions and eventually agreed on one with the absolute majority of votes.
