UNA Georgia organized Model UN conferences at six universities of Tbilisi.</p> <p>Students from Ilia State University, Ivane Javakhishvili State University, Georgian-American University, Tbilisi State University of Economic Relations and International Black Sea University participated in the cycle of Model UN Sessions and discussed "Women and Child trafficking” related issues, one of the main issue areas of UN agenda.</p> <p>Students worked on setting the specific steps, ways and mechanisms of addressnig the human trafficing related issues. The participants stepped in the shoes of UN diplomats and made open speeches and negotiations. After discussions, they elaborated the resolutions, one of them later approved by the majority of votes.</p> <p>The participants of MUN conferences increased their knowledge and acquired practical skills of affective presentations and debates. Obtained knowledge will help participants to engage in civil society development processes and to contribute to enhancing the democratic development of Georgia.</p> <p>The best six delegates were chosen from each university, which will participate in the National Model UN conference, to be hold on October 24, 2010 at "Sheraton Metekhi Palace”, in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the United Nations.</p> <p>The cycle of Model UN conferences at universities of Tbilisi was conducted by UNA Georgia with financial support of UN Development Program (UNDP).</p> <p>Please contact UNAG H.Q. should you be interested in participating in Model UN conferences and seminars.
