On March 24, at 17:00, Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness Program (PITA) will host an online Conference: „Civic Engagement: Challenges and Opportunities“

At the conference, civic activists and representatives of non-governmental organizations from different regions of Georgia will talk about the main challenges and opportunities that exist in the field of civic activism.

Conference Topics and Speakers:

• Youth Participation in Local Self-Government - Giorgi Andghuladze, Director of the Union of Democrat Meskhs
• Constraints and Enabling Factors of Youth Involvement in Civic Activism - Ivlita Lobjanidze, Invited Lecturer at Ilia State University
• Non-formal Education and its Related Challenges in the Regions of Georgia - Pikria Bregvadze, Projects Director at the Center for Welfare and Development
• Women's Rights and Civic Activism in the Regional Context - Shalala Amirjanova, a Project Assistant of the PITA Program, the UN Association of Georgia.
• The Importance of Civic Activism in Building a Democratic State - Akaki Saghinadze, a Founder of Regional Empowerment for Democracy [RED].
• Involvement of Young Ethnic Minorities in Civic Activism - Nana Akofyan, a Civic Activist, Akhaltsikhe.
• Challenges for Women and Girls in Shida Kartli Region - Mariam Topchishvili, a Civic and Gender Activist
• Participation in the Elections and its Related Challenges in Kvemo Kartli - Rashan Ziadaliev, a Civic Activist, Marneuli
• Anti-Western Propaganda and the Importance of Combating Disinformation - Giorgi Abuladze, a Coordinator of Gardabani Youth Center.
