A project “Talks On Tolerance” implemented in frames of The National Integration and Tolerance in Georgia Program (NITG)

<p>Center for Democracy and Civil Integration (NGO) implemented a new project "Talks On Tolerance” in frames of The National Integration and Tolerance in Georgia Program (NITG) and with support of Ethnic Minority Council under The Public Defender of Georgia. The main goals of the project were to increase the general public awareness on culture and history of ethnic minorities living in Georgia and ensure better interaction and communication between the ethnic communities. The project participants ( totally 30 schoolchildren from 10 th and 11 th grades ) took part in different excursions and meetings to learn more about peculiarities of different ethnic groups. Famous public figures and experts (like a poet-Rati Amaglobeli, a sociologist- Emzar Jgerenaia, an actor-Buba kikabidze) carried out lectures/seminars related to national integration and tolerance. The participants of the project were given a task to write a short essay about their understanding of tolerance, the best participants were rewarded with books and certificates.</p> <p>The project was implemented within the frameworks of NITG grant component, run by The United Nations Association of Georgia, with support of USAID.</p>
